Man detained after hitting nightclub guests with chair

A man was detained after allegedly hitting guests with a chair at a nightclub in central Reykjavík, mbl.is reported. He was held in a police cell.

The incident was among 103 cases recorded by the police in the capital region between 5pm and 5am.

Police repeatedly intervened over loud party noise from a house in Seltjarnarnes. The occupants were reported over the matter.

Police also arrested a driver in Hlíðarnar who was driving a car without registration plates. He was also found to be disqualified from driving.

Authorities later received a report of an assault at a nightclub in central Reykjavík.
