Faroe Islands prepare rules for importing invasive plants

Rules to regulate the import of invasive plants are being prepared in the Faroe Islands, KVF reports. The plant skoran is still being sold in Faroese shops while efforts are under way to control its spread in nature.

The Faroese Nature and Environment Association, known as FNU, has urged Minister for Energy Affairs Eyðdis Hartmann Niclasen to introduce measures that could prevent invasive plants from being imported.

Niclasen said the issue was being addressed and that a regulation governing the import of invasive plants was on the way.
