One taken to hospital after car hits tractor on Iceland road

One person was taken by ambulance to Akureyri Hospital for treatment after a car rear-ended a tractor on Fljótsheiði heath, between Reykjadalur and Bárðardalur, mbl.is reports.

The collision occurred at around 3 p.m. on Friday. An Akureyri police duty officer said the crash was not serious and that neither driver suffered serious injuries. One driver was in the car and the other was in the tractor.

Traffic on the road was temporarily closed because of the crash but has since reopened.
