100-year-old Hanus Zachariassen still drives in Vestmanna

Hanus Zachariassen, who recently turned 100, still drives in the village of Vestmanna, Kringvarp Føroya reported. He renewed his driving licence when he was 99.
Zachariassen is originally from Streymnes but moved to Vestmanna as a young man to work as a painter. He met his wife there, raised a family and has lived in the village ever since.
During the radio programme Summarmorgun, Zachariassen spoke about his long life before taking the presenter for a drive around Vestmanna. He showed no hesitation about using the village’s narrowest roads.
He also continues to follow events in Vestmanna closely and spoke about them during the programme.
