Iceland forecast to see fine summer weather this weekend

Fine summer weather is expected across much of Iceland this weekend, mbl.is reports.

A meteorologist at the Icelandic Met Office said conditions would improve in the south and west on Friday. Further north, rain is expected to continue throughout the day, with slightly cooler temperatures.

Northerly winds will persist through Friday but are expected to ease over the weekend.

Saturday and Sunday are forecast to bring good weather across the country. Temperatures will rise again in the north as skies clear. The capital area is expected to have bright weather and temperatures of up to 15C.

There may be occasional showers in southern Iceland, where temperatures are forecast to remain around 12C to 15C with light winds.
