Icelandic education materials showcased at seminar and exhibition

mbl.is is broadcasting a seminar and exhibition on Icelandic education materials at Menntaskólinn við Hamrahlíð, a school in Iceland, from 4pm to 6pm on Thursday.

The event, titled “Icelandic education materials – what is available?”, aims to highlight development, innovation and diversity in Icelandic publishing and the creation of education materials.

The programme includes short presentations by representatives from the education system and publishing sector. Speakers include Þórdís Jóna Sigurðardóttir, director general of the Centre for Education and School Services; Tryggvi Hjaltason, managing director of Andvari; Páll Ásgeir Torfason of the centre; Þórunn Rakel Gylfadóttir of Hagþenkir; Heiðar Ingi Svansson, managing director of Iðnú publishing; Guðjón Hreinn Hauksson of the Icelandic Teachers’ Union; and Íris E. Gísladóttir, chair of the Education Materials Development Fund and IEI.
