Telemark Air plans direct Notodden to Bergen route

Telemark Air is seeking to establish a direct air link between Notodden and Bergen, with plans to eventually expand to Copenhagen, NRK reports.

Liberty Aviation is behind the initiative and is working to develop a modern and reliable regional air service based in the region.

The company will attend the Telemark Airshow in Notodden on August 30 with an actual Saab 340 aircraft, the type intended for the future route. It aims to present the concept to the public, businesses and local decision-makers.

“We want to show that this is a concrete initiative. By bringing the aircraft, we can demonstrate that Telemark Air has a serious plan for regional aviation,” said Knut Einar Naess of Liberty Aviation.

The initiative is aimed at an upcoming tender process for the route. No final operating agreement has yet been signed.
