Arrest made in connection with apartment fire in Lappeenranta, Finland

A person has been arrested in connection with a fire that broke out in an apartment building in Lappeenranta, Finland. The individual is facing charges of aggravated arson. Police have yet to question the suspect.
The fire occurred in the early hours of last Saturday at a six-story building on Orioninkatu, specifically starting in an apartment on the first floor. The apartment was severely damaged in the incident, which also resulted in a significant amount of smoke spreading through the stairwell, affecting units on higher floors.
As a precaution, 11 residents from the upper floors were evacuated during the emergency response. Fortunately, there were no individuals present in the affected apartment at the time of the fire.
