Kolbeinn Arnarson, campaign manager for Já til að Sjá, an organisation advocating that Iceland resume membership talks with the European Union, is an employee of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, mbl.is reports.

Arnarson has worked at the ministry since 2024. He was also campaign manager for the Social Democratic Alliance in Kópavogur during this spring’s local elections.

The report was first published by Stjórnmálin.is, a website run by historian and international politics scholar Hjörtur J. Guðmundsson. The ministry confirmed that Arnarson remains employed there and works as an official in the office responsible for development cooperation. He is not on leave or summer holiday.
