Allegations of sexual harassment emerge at confirmation camp in Pori, Finland
In Pori, Finland, allegations have emerged regarding sexual harassment at a confirmation camp, as reported by Satakunnan Kansa. Kaisa Huhtala, the priest of the four parishes involved, has confirmed that a crime report has been filed.
The incident is said to have occurred at the Junnila camp facility in Reposaari, which hosted a confirmation camp ending last Saturday. On the last night of the camp, a minor was reportedly subjected to sexual harassment by an adult night supervisor who worked at the camp.
Priest Huhtala noted that none of the church’s own leaders present at the camp are suspected of any wrongdoing. The night supervisor was not an employee of the parish union. Yle has been unable to reach Kaisa Huhtala for further comments on the case, and updates on the story will follow.
