Three ticket holders win seven million Icelandic kronur each

Three ticket holders won seven million Icelandic kronur each in the University of Iceland Lottery’s August draw, mbl.is reported, citing an announcement from the lottery.

One of the winners was a father from Hafnarfjordur who plans to use the prize for a family holiday. Another winner had promised to buy ice cream for the family if they won and intended to keep that promise.

The jackpot was not won in August, so 15 million kronur will be added to the September prize pool. One ticket holder will then have the chance to win 45 million kronur tax free.

More than 3,800 ticket holders won prizes in the August draw, sharing a total of more than 180 million kronur.
