The fishing vessel Ango has been removed from the Faroese ship register after being sold to Morocco, where it has arrived, KVF reported on Wednesday.
The vessel was sold for 6.313 million euros, equivalent to 47.2 million kroner. Ango left the Faroe Islands on July 31.
Since receiving permission to fish for pelagic species in 2021, Ango had caught blue whiting, North Atlantic herring and mackerel.
The vessel was built in 1999 and purchased for the Faroe Islands in 2022.
Ango’s company leased Jupiter from Hvalnesi to fish the company’s blue whiting quota.
