Dagbladet reports that a hole about two metres deep was discovered at Brynjulf Bulls plass in central Oslo on Tuesday evening.
Police have cordoned off the area between City Hall Square and the Nobel Peace Center. Several municipal employees were at the scene investigating the hole.
“A hole approximately two metres deep has been discovered at the location. Municipal agencies have been notified, and we have cordoned off an area around the hole,” police operations leader Line-Merethe Skott said.
The cause of the hole was not immediately known, according to police.
Representatives from the municipality, Oslo Water and Sewerage, the Agency for Urban Environment and VTS were at the scene to investigate and secure the area. “The necessary investigations are being carried out,” Skott said.
