Moss, norway, traffic accident

A motorcycle rider died in a traffic accident in the Mosseport Tunnel in Moss on Tuesday, Dagbladet reported.

Police reported the crash at 12.17 p.m. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were sent to the tunnel. Life-saving first aid was given, but the person could not be saved.

The tunnel remains closed while traffic is being diverted.

Police said the motorcycle appears to have been hit from behind and then collided with the car in front. Officers are taking statements from witnesses and the car’s driver.

The Norwegian Public Roads Administration’s accident investigation group, police forensic technicians and the Accident Investigation Board will examine the scene.

Police do not suspect that the car driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Both a breath test and a saliva test were negative, police said.

Traffic had been diverted shortly before 2 p.m., but police warned that the crash would likely cause some disruption.
