Police seek witnesses to assault in Vestmannaeyjar

Vestmannaeyjar police are seeking witnesses to an assault in the town, mbl.is reports. The incident took place on Brekastígur at about 7.30pm on Saturday, August 1.
According to a police statement, the victim was punched in the head by an unidentified person, who then left the scene. The victim was subsequently taken away by ambulance.
Anyone who witnessed the assault or has information about it is asked to contact Vestmannaeyjar police on 444 2090.
