Faroe Islands health school launches healthcare assistant class under new model

The Health School of the Faroe Islands is starting a healthcare assistant class under a new teaching model, according to public broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya.

Under the new model, some of the teaching will take place in Suðuroy, some in Tórshavn and some through distance learning.

Applications for the healthcare assistant and healthcare worker programmes under the new model closed in May.

Two healthcare assistant classes are starting at the Health School. One will be based in Suðuroy as usual, while the other will follow the new model.
