Helga Lára Haarde appointed assistant to Reykjavík mayor

Helga Lára Haarde has been appointed assistant to Hildur Björnsdóttir, the mayor of Reykjavík, mbl.is reports. She will begin working at the mayor’s office in the coming weeks.

Haarde is a clinical psychologist educated at Reykjavík University. She joins the city from the consultancy firm Attentus, where she has worked as a human resources consultant and clinical psychologist for the past decade.

She has also held various positions of trust for the Independence Party over the years, including serving as the party’s campaign manager in last spring’s Reykjavík municipal elections.
