Two men remanded over death in Kópavogur

Two men have been remanded in custody in connection with an investigation into a death in Kópavogur, mbl.is reports.

Reykjanes District Court ordered one man held until 21 August and the other until 17 August, at the request of the Capital Region Police on investigative grounds. One is an Icelandic citizen and the other is a foreign national.

Police said a report of an assault at a home in Kópavogur was received around midday on Sunday. The injured man was taken to Landspítali hospital, where he died later that afternoon. He was a foreign national in his forties.

Police said no further information could be provided at this stage.
