Driver filmed crash scene while using phone behind wheel

A driver was stopped by police for using a phone while driving after filming an accident scene while passing it, mbl.is reports.

The incident was among 55 cases recorded in the Reykjavík capital area police system since 5am on Sunday.

Police made numerous traffic interventions in the area covered by Police Station 2, which includes Hafnarfjörður and Garðabær. The violations included speeding, running a red light, driving without a licence and driving under the influence of alcohol.

In the area covered by Police Station 4, which includes Grafarvogur, Árbær and Mosfellsbær, a scooter collided with another vehicle. Minor injuries were reported.

Police in the area covered by Police Station 3, which includes Kópavogur and Breiðholt, also stopped a driver for speeding. The driver was travelling at 125 kilometres per hour in a 90-kilometre-per-hour zone.
