Former parliament speaker Erkki Pystynen dies at 96

Former Finnish Parliament speaker and Kokoomus politician Erkki Pystynen has died at the age of 96, Yle reported. Iltalehti was the first to report his death.
Pystynen served as a Kokoomus member of parliament for four terms between 1975 and 1991. He was speaker during the 1983 to 1987 parliamentary term.
He also worked at the University of Tampere, where he was professor of municipal politics and later rector.
