Police chase sends moped rider into fence in Tuusula

Yle visited the scene in Tuusula on Sunday where a moped rider left the road during a police chase and crashed into a metal fence.

Police forced the moped off the road, sending the rider into the fence. The metal structure was bent and broken by the impact.

The chase ended on Palkkitie, where heavy braking marks were visible. The route passes speed bumps a few hundred metres away, then bends sharply to the left.

Helsinki Police have not yet released further details about what happened. According to information obtained by Yle, the young person who was pursued was injured, but police said the injuries were not life-threatening. The young person did not wish to comment.
