AI can ease family logistics, but Aula still poses a challenge

As the school year, work, packed lunches and after-school activities resume, artificial intelligence can help families organise their daily routines, DR reports. Tech analyst Marcel Mirzaei-Fard recommends using AI for meal planning and calendars, while warning that automating messages from Aula, the school intranet, requires greater technical skill.

Build meal plans around your family

AI can create more useful meal plans when given detailed information about the household. Families can provide the number of people, their budget, a maximum cooking time of 30 minutes, dietary preferences and foods that individual family members dislike.

“The more context you give it, the better the result,” Mirzaei-Fard says.

Once the plan is ready, families can ask the AI assistant to turn it into a single shopping list divided into fresh produce, frozen goods and dry products.

Use AI to find calendar clashes

Children’s sports activities, parent meetings and parents working late on different days can make the weekly schedule difficult to manage. Mirzaei-Fard suggests entering all of the week’s appointments into an AI chat and asking it to identify possible logistical problems.

AI can also be asked to suggest a weekly plan that fits the appointments together. More advanced users can connect new AI agents directly to their digital calendars so that the work happens automatically.

Aula automation requires caution

Using AI to sort and summarise messages from Aula is technically more complicated. Setting up an AI agent to log into an Aula account and process the messages requires considerable technical knowledge.

Mirzaei-Fard advises people who are new to artificial intelligence to start with meal planning and calendar assistance instead.
