Fire service called to hotel after drying room fire

Firefighters were called to Hotel Klettur in Mjölnisholt after a fire broke out in a drying room, mbl.is reports.

The fire had been extinguished by the time the capital area fire service arrived. Crews only ventilated the premises to clear smoke.

Guests were not required to leave the hotel, as the incident was not considered serious enough to warrant an evacuation, an on-duty fire service officer said.
