Several military oath and assurance ceremonies are being held across Finland today, Saturday, Yle reports.
The Jaeger Brigade ceremony in Keminmaa may cause traffic congestion on roads leading to the municipality. Around 4,500 relatives of recruits are expected to attend.
Recruits who began their service in July at the Lapland Jaeger Battalion and the Rovaniemi Air Defence Battery will take a military oath or give a military assurance. The ceremony will end with a parade.
In Jyväskylä, the Air Force School ceremony will take place at Harju Stadium as part of the Central Finland national defence event. The Central Finland regional troops will take part in the parade review and procession.
At about noon, the Finnish Air Force is scheduled to conduct a flyover with an F/A-18 Hornet multirole fighter at the start of the procession. The flyover is subject to weather conditions, the Air Force said.
The Army Academy ceremony will be held at Kansalaistori in Lappeenranta. After the parade, the procession will travel along Valtakatu on Saturday.
