Call-up letters are not being delivered properly in Uusimaa, the Finnish Army said, with the problem mainly affecting Swedish-speaking conscripts.
The Uusimaa Regional Office is aware of several cases and is investigating the cause. The Finnish Defence Forces’ media service said the problem appears to be related to distribution.
Call-ups in Uusimaa begin on August 17, with the first Swedish-language call-ups scheduled for August 25.
The Army said it is most important for conscripts to attend their call-up according to the official call-up announcement. Their date can be checked on the Army’s website using their surname.
This year’s call-ups concern people born in 2008, Yle reported.
