More than 200 caravans are at this year’s Summarfestival, including the one used by Joan Samuelsen and her husband, Jóhan M. Stenberg, according to Kringvarp Føroya.

Samuelsen and her family first attended the festival with a caravan in 2011. They became close to two families staying in neighbouring caravans, and the children and adults have returned to camp together at the festival ever since.

“We have three caravans and go in and out of each other’s caravans. It is so cosy,” Samuelsen said.

Samuelsen spoke about the tradition on KVF’s Summarmorgun programme.
