The Unholy Summerfest metal festival will move indoors in Joensuu after ticket sales fell short, Yle reports. Organiser Restaurant Kerubi said sales were not sufficient to make the event financially viable.
The festival will take place on 21 August in Kerubi’s club and main hall instead of outdoors at Ilosaari. The same artists originally announced will perform, including Turmion Kätilöt.
Joensuu has hosted several large outdoor events on consecutive weekends this summer. The OKR event attracted 11,500 visitors over two days a week ago. Eliel’s Harvest Festival is being held in a museum courtyard on 7 and 8 August, while Vesterinen yhtyeineen will perform an outdoor concert at Ilosaari on 8 August.
The Lempi Festival at Utran Uittotupa is scheduled for 22 August.
