Nurminen Logistics is considering discontinuing its terminal operations at Vainikkala, located on Finland’s eastern border in Lappeenranta. An alternative option under review involves a significant reduction in the scope of these operations. Additionally, the company is planning to restructure its freight forwarding services in Kotka, as well as consolidate overlapping roles.
These potential changes would affect Nurminen Logistics Services, a subsidiary of Nurminen Logistics. According to the company’s announcement, 18 employees are impacted, and preliminary assessments suggest that the changes could result in the termination of up to 14 employment contracts.
The ongoing negotiations for change are aimed at enhancing operational efficiency in line with the company’s strategic objectives.
