Tour guide deported and barred from Faroe Islands for two years

Kringvarp Føroya reports that the tour guide detained on Monday has been deported and will not be allowed to return to the Faroe Islands for two years.

The guide was with a group of eight people above Funning when authorities discovered that he did not have permission to work in the Faroe Islands.

He accepted a fine of 10,000 Danish kroner. Denmark has now responded regarding the deportation.

Foreign tour guides must have a work permit to operate in the Faroe Islands.
