Ikea in Tampere has begun assessing the repairs needed following a significant water damage incident that occurred on Saturday. According to the company, this evaluation will be conducted thoroughly over the coming weeks and months. The store is expected to remain open to customers during the assessment and repair process.
The water damage was caused by a failure in the connection of a roof drain, leading to thousands of liters of water entering the building. As a precaution, the store was cleared of customers and closed for the remainder of the day on Saturday. However, Ikea resumed regular operations on Sunday.
Ikea has not disclosed the financial impact of the water damage incident.
