Wrestler and entertainer Asbjørn Riis dies aged 69

Danish entertainer and wrestler Asbjørn Riis has died of cancer at the age of 69, DR reports, citing a statement from his family on Facebook.

His family said he had made his own mark on the world as a wrestler, strongman, actor, television commentator, gymnast, motocross rider, blacksmith and more.

Above all, they said, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Riis became particularly well known in Denmark in the early 1990s as a wrestling commentator on TV3. He also travelled to the United States during that period to learn wrestling.
