Fuel chains cut petrol and diesel prices as oil continues to fall

Several fuel chains are cutting petrol prices by 55 öre and diesel prices by 85 öre per litre as the price of oil continues to decline, SVT reported.

A barrel of North Sea oil cost 82 dollars on Monday, down from around 88 dollars at the end of last week. Oil prices affect prices at the pump.

The new prices for private customers are expected to be around 14.60 kronor per litre for petrol and 19.10 kronor for diesel. The reductions are based on business prices, which are usually followed by equivalent changes for private motorists.

Before the war in the Middle East began on 28 February, petrol cost around 15 kronor per litre and diesel around 17 kronor.

Current prices are also affected by temporary tax cuts introduced on 1 May and 1 July.
