Finnish Air Force resumes some Hawk flights after technical fault

The Finnish Air Force has partially resumed Hawk jet flights after suspending them last week because of a technical fault, Yle reported on Monday.
Training has resumed as normal with Mk 66 aircraft, which were acquired in 2007. Mk 51 aircraft will remain grounded as a precaution while the investigation continues.
The flight suspension began last Wednesday. The Air Force also cancelled a performance and flyover by the Midnight Hawks aerobatic team at the opening ceremony of the Jyväskylä World Rally.
The Air Force said the suspension was intended to ensure flight safety.
The Air Force has 31 Hawk jets in service. The oldest Mk 51 aircraft were acquired in 1980, while the Mk 51A aircraft were acquired in 1993.
The investigation into the technical fault is still under way. The Air Force is preparing to send key components for further examination.
