Man in his 30s dies after fall in Kalvåg

A man in his 30s was found dead after falling from a cliff in Kalvåg, Bremanger, overnight on Sunday, Dagbladet reports.

The man had been out with friends, who realised they could no longer find him. They began searching and later called the police, operations manager Knut Dahl-Michaelsen of the Western Police District told Dagbladet.

The group found him before police arrived, below a cliff several metres high. They immediately began first aid, but his life could not be saved.

There were no witnesses to the accident. Police have spoken to the friends who found him and carried out investigations at the scene.

Police said the incident appeared to have happened as the man was walking home from a night out and fell over an edge. He was from Kalvåg, and his immediate family has been notified.
