Front-on crash injures several and closes E16 at Voss

Several people were injured in a serious two-car crash on the E16 at Voss, Dagbladet reported on Saturday. One person was trapped in a vehicle and a rescue helicopter was sent to the scene.

Police operations leader Jørgen Ommedal said the accident appeared serious. The E16 was closed in both directions at Bolstadøyri and could remain closed for several hours. Traffic was being diverted via Hardanger.

The fire service, which was at the scene, reported at 6.16pm that several people were injured and one was trapped. Firefighters began freeing the person from the vehicle.

The fire service said the crash involved a front-on collision. At 6.36pm, it reported that the trapped person had been removed from the car.
