Fleeing van crashes into bystander’s car after police shooting

A stolen van rammed into Daniel Eriksen’s car on Taastrup Hovedgade after police opened fire on the vehicle, which officers said had tried to run them over.

The driver then fled on foot before being arrested on a nearby side street. Police took the suspect away in a forensic suit. A witness, Mette Durholm, saw the arrest from her home office window.

Eriksen, who had been heading to BonBon-Land, described the incident as “completely insane.”
