Funeral held for Yle editor-in-chief Panu Pokkinen

A memorial service for Panu Pokkinen, Yle’s editor-in-chief for news, was held at Töölö Church in Helsinki on Wednesday, according to the Finnish public broadcaster.

Pokkinen died on 8 July at the age of 49 after suffering cardiac arrest.

He had served as Yle News’ editor-in-chief since autumn 2024, having previously worked as head of Yle Sport and manager of the Sports and Events unit.
