Cyclists and drivers reject proposal to allow bikes in traffic lanes

Cyclists and drivers in Denmark have criticised a proposal by the Danish Cyclists’ Federation to allow cyclists to ride in regular traffic lanes instead of designated bike paths, according to public broadcaster DR.

The federation says the measure would ease congestion on crowded urban bike lanes, where some riders feel unsafe.

DR reported that several road users interviewed Monday morning called the idea “a bad idea.”
