Stubb to attend Graham funeral in Washington

Finnish President Alexander Stubb will travel to Washington D.C. to attend the state funeral of U.S. Senator Lindsey O. Graham, the President’s Office announced on Monday.

Stubb is scheduled to take part in the national funeral service at Washington National Cathedral on Tuesday, 28 July.

Graham, a Republican and a prominent supporter of former U.S. President Donald Trump, had been expected to run for a fifth Senate term in November. According to the Wall Street Journal, he played a key role in arranging a golf diplomacy meeting between Stubb and Trump after the two met in Munich in February of last year.
