Olaf Tufte to be buried in Horten on July 31

Norway’s most decorated rower, Olaf Tufte, will be buried at Horten Church on Friday, July 31 at noon, the family announced Thursday.

In a statement, the family said Tufte, who died on July 21 at age 50, suffered an acute cardiac arrest. The funeral service will be private; only immediate family will attend the interment.

Family members asked that no flowers be sent to the church or their home, requesting instead donations be made to a fund for Tufte’s children’s education.

Tufte leaves behind his wife Aina and their two children.
