Poliisi ends Kaukovainio death case as self-inflicted

Police in Oulu have closed their investigation into a death reported in the Kaukovainio district on Wednesday after determining the incident was not a homicide.

The person found dead at the scene had sustained self-inflicted injuries, police said. An individual previously detained in connection with the case has been released and is no longer considered a suspect.

Investigators will continue to pursue the matter as an unnatural death inquiry, but police indicated they do not intend to release further details.
