Lokaltog has announced a series of new measures aimed at improving safety on the Gribskov Line following months of concern after an April accident that injured 18 passengers.

Ten new drivers will join the service starting 1 August, increasing staffing to enhance operational reliability and passenger security. The announcement comes as commuters report feeling uneasy about recent conditions.

“I definitely think about safety a lot because my children commute by train,” said Anne Mette Raasig from Gilleleje. “It’s a reasonable idea. I’ve heard stories about the poor conditions, so this is good progress in a tragic situation.”

Jonathan Thunbo from Hillerød, who frequently uses the Gribskov Line, echoed the sentiment. “I can sense there’s been some unease since the accident. So it’s definitely reassuring to see these steps being taken.”

Lokaltog stated that additional staff will help ensure smoother operations and greater safety across the line.
