People with severe allergies urged to seek medical care instead of self-medicating

People with severe allergies should consult a doctor rather than self-medicate with over-the-counter remedies, according to Turið Holm Johannessen, chair of the Faroese Association of Municipal Doctors.

Johannessen’s advice follows the recent launch of an over-the-counter antihistamine at Tjaldurs Pharmacy, which she says may not be suitable for everyone. “Some people may not be aware that this medication is not for them,” she said.
