Poliisi investigates possible homicide in Oulu

Police in Oulu are investigating a possible homicide after a man was found dead in the Kaukovainio district on Wednesday afternoon.

The Oulu Police Department confirmed that officers responded to a report of a deceased person near a private residence. A spokesperson for the department, Tero Väyrynen, said the case was reported after 3 p.m. and that investigators have not yet determined the exact time of death.

Police have not disclosed further details about the circumstances surrounding the death or the identity of the deceased. One person has been taken into custody in connection with the investigation, according to police.

Väyrynen stated that the case is unrelated to recent bicycle-related stabbings in Oulu. The investigation remains ongoing, and police expect to provide further updates no earlier than Thursday.
