Serious injury at Rauma shipyard after worker struck by heavy loader

A worker at Rauma’s shipyard was seriously injured on Wednesday afternoon when trapped under a heavy loader, emergency services and police confirmed.

Emergency responders and police were dispatched to the shipyard at 13:18 local time after receiving a report of the accident. The injured worker was operating in an area of the yard when the loader overturned, pinning the individual beneath it.

Police have documented the scene and conducted preliminary interviews with those present. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, examining the circumstances, contributing factors and any questions of responsibility.
