Gull interrupts dessert in Aalborg café

A massive gull swooped down on a family’s table at an Aalborg café on Tuesday, seizing a slice of the diners’ prized stjerneskud—“star shot”—a traditional Danish summer dessert.

The incident unfolded at an outdoor seating area when the bird targeted Kitti Bergkjær and her daughter, who were enjoying their meal. The gull attempted to snatch the dessert from their plates, prompting the pair to defend themselves with a garden spade.

The café staff intervened to restore calm and ensure the diners could finish their meal without further disruption.
