HSL app payment fault limits users to card transactions

Helsinki Region Transport’s mobile app has been disrupted for hours, leaving customers able to pay only with physical cards.

The fault, which prevents mobile-payment options such as MobilePay, direct billing and employer-subsidised commuting vouchers, was detected at 09:00 on Wednesday, HSL communications officer Johannes Laitila told Yle.

No cause has been established and no repair timeline is available, Laitila said. He added that most passengers already use card payments, limiting the immediate impact.
