In a morning operation, a helicopter crew from Iceland’s Coast Guard responded to an emergency call regarding a sick passenger aboard a cruise ship in the Greenland Sea, located deep north of the Westfjords. The helicopter, designated TF GRO, arrived at the scene around 7 AM, despite challenging conditions, including winds of approximately 20 meters per second, snow showers, and wave heights of about 4-5 meters.

A crew member boarded the cruise ship to assist the ailing passenger, preparing him for evacuation. The transfer to the helicopter was executed successfully, and the patient was then flown to Akureyri Hospital for medical attention.
