Construction of protein and fishmeal plant at Varðin Pelagic delayed

The expansion of a protein and fishmeal plant at Varðin Pelagic’s facility in Tvøroyri remains on hold as a legal dispute between Livilig Kør and the Faroese Consumer Council continues.

Varðin Pelagic has paused all work until the outcome of the case is known and construction permits are issued, the company confirmed on Tuesday.

The plant’s planned full-scale launch has been delayed indefinitely.
