Man in his 70s dies in swimming accident

A man in his 70s died after disappearing while swimming in Gjerstad, Agder, Dagbladet reported on Tuesday.

Rescue teams were dispatched to a lake in Agder after police received a report of a missing swimmer. Divers initiated a search and later located the man in the water. He was pulled ashore and cardiopulmonary resuscitation was attempted, but efforts were terminated after it became clear that he could not be revived.
